About Inspire Dorset

Our History

Gary Avery-Carter CEO recruited 5 other likeminded community based trustees with a range of different skills, together in July 2019 we formed Inspire Dorset. A charity aiming to provide Sports and Social Groups for the whole community engaging with all people and offering support and guidance to more vulnerable members of the community. As well as having an inclusion policy we strive to improve everyone in the communities mental and physical wellbeing.

Present achievements

In July we successfully submitted a bid to Cherries Community Fund, to improve the football groups that we facilitate for the community. We were luckily granted £300 and some of our senior, junior and trustees attended the photoshoot at Vitality Stadium. As of November 2019 we have grown and now have 8 adult volunteers and 4 young people volunteers helping to ensure we continue to Inspire families and local individuals to get involved and help the community in any ways we can.

Our Future

We are in preliminary discussions with the local authority to use this disused changing room block at Haskells Recreation Ground, to become Inspire Dorsets base of operations. It would be a regeneration project which could eventually lead to it becoming a community hub for the residents of Newtown, Poole, Dorset.
